CAPP is authorized by the NC DHHS, Nutrition Services Branch as a sponsor of family daycare home facilities participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), a USDA federal program that helps fund healthy meals and snacks to children in day care. The program plays a vital role in improving the quality of day care and making it more affordable for families.

Each day more than 2.6 million children participate in CACFP at day care homes and centers across the country. Providers are reimbursed for serving nutritious meals which meet USDA requirements. Approved facilities follow meal requirements established by USDA.

Many homes and centers operate CACFP and share the common goal of bringing nutritious meals and snacks to participants. The CAPP Center, however, sponsors only Family Day Care Homes (Licensed or approved). We handle the monthly reimbursement to facilities for valid claims according to the meal rate set annually by the USDA, for a maximum of two meals and one snack or two snacks and one meal, served to eligible, enrolled children: • age 12 and under and • migrant children age 15 and younger. Other federal, state and sponsor rules apply.

If you have questions about joining our program or a question concerning your child's enrollment with an authorized childcare provider, please call the office at
(910) 791-1057 x Extension 25 or 17.

The CAPP Center is an equal opportunity sponsor and employer
